Choosing the best for your business

Business voip providers 0 Comment »

Everybody knows that tough economic times require small businesses to be creative about the ways in which they spend money and acquire new customers. Yet perhaps some of the best savings for small businesses can be almost too easy. By switching from phone company telecommunications solutions to any of the number of business voip providers, who provide calling at a fraction of the price that the phone company charges, small businesses can save roughly 50% on their phone bill – a bill that is usually upwards of $60 per phone per month at small and mid-sized businesses.

When shopping for new phone service, there are a few very important factors to consider, besides price. First, consider whether your business has the resources and know-how to host its own PBX phone system. While hosting a PBX network in house can save money over the very long term, it is far from a core competency for most businesses, and the initial investment in hosting hardware is hard to recoup. Therefore, most businesses will want a hosted VOIP solution. Next, solutions run the continuum from bare bones service and dirt-cheap calling to full-service implementation and support at a much smaller discount from the phone company. Consider your needs. If you’re like most small businesses and do not have a dedicated telecom IT specialist, you should choose a voip business that is known to be a provider of excellent customer service. (Jive is often considered to be the best in this camp.) Last, consider what kinds of phones each company offers. Many of the voip solution companies offer phones that are quite complicated for those who are not tech savvy, or only offer 2 or 3 different phones. Choose a company that offers a number of different phones for different needs. It is crucial that offerings include phones that are compatible with sidecar attachments, conference call phones, and executive phones that have embedded technology that clarifies and richens the otherwise tinny-sounding voice produced by the IP transmission.

Is it time to change strategies?

Hedge fund performance 0 Comment »

How is your Hedge fund performance?

Proof is in the pudding. Results change with the times. Investment methods that worked just a few years ago now break the bank. Judge your portfolio’s performance by its current trends, not the upswings you may have received in the past. What were once top performing funds are now experiencing record losses, accelerating at a rate that alarms even the experts.

What used to be sure solid bets are now definite disappointments, so why keep betting on the same thing? It’s a new game, and those who don’t learn the rules will miss out. Are hedge funds a thing of the past? Hardly, though the game has gotten harder.

As markets fall, rise and circulate at increasing rates, adjustability for change is key to profitable hedge fund performance. Investors now need to focus on multi-manager portfolios, rather than single manger allocations. The old adage of keeping all your eggs in one basket holds true, especially when the financial chicken hen is on the loose.

In today’s market you have to specialize in spreading your investments over a number of different markets, adjusting them to meet the changes in order to curtail loss and maximize investment. You need a financial trading advisor who works to sustain your assets in these hard times, protecting them through a combination of investments ranging from currencies, energies, metals, short and long term interest rates, domestic and international stock indices and traditional commodities.

Using a consultative portfolio approach utilizes the best choices on the market, changing with the shifts of the market. The ability to rise and fall helps your investments ride the altering waves and stay above water.

Of course, not all multi-manager portfolios are all the same. Manager selection should go beyond mere statistics and correlation, which can become skewed during confusing market conditions. Using a qualified network of investment professionals can help you adapt to the changing market, without being brushed up and lost in the trends.

Watch the performance of your investments. Are they still working for you? Times are changing, and perhaps, it’s time to move with the times.

The flux welder

flux welder 0 Comment »

FCAW is the acronym for flux-cored ace welding. It is an automatic and/or semi-automatic process of arc welding whereby a continuous supply of an electric current is used in the welding process. Flux welders must be knowledgeable enough to know how to control this, among a host of other skills.

Flux welding was developed in the mid-20th century. It was done so as an option to shielded metal arc welding, commonly referred to by its acronym, SMAW. Because flux welding doesn’t use stick electrodes, it is free from many of the restrictions associated with SMAW.

There are two types of flux welders. Following is a brief overview of each.

2 Types of Flux Welders

Flux Welders Who Work with No Shielding Gas: The first type of flux welder is one who works with no shielding gas. Flux welders can work without shielding gas because of the flux core in the electrode. This electrode contains a variety of elements that, when exposed to elevated temperatures, generates a shielding gas that protects the arc.

Flux welding of this type is a portable welder and offers excellent penetration of the base metals. Another advantage for flux welders who work with no shielding gas is that they can work under various types of conditions, eg, high winds. This comes in really handy in trades like construction, for example.

Flux Welders Who Use Shielding Gas: The second type of flux welder is one who works with shielding gas. This means that the gas supply comes from an outside source. This is also known as dual shield welding.

Flux welders of this type usually weld thicker sheets of metal than the ones mentioned above. They also work more with out-of-position metals. In fact, this type of welding was developed primarily to weld heavy, structured, out-of-position steel.

Flux welders generally work in a closed shop environment. You won’t find them in windy outside environments like their counterparts who work with no shielding gas.

Unjust Murder Convictions

Justice System 0 Comment »

Imagine being convicted of first degree murder convicted to spend the rest of your life in prison for a murder you didn’t even commit. Since the use of DNA many people have been freed after spending years in prison so we know that it does happen in this country. Being convicted for a murder that you didn’t commit and spending life in prison for it would be bad enough, but there would always be hope that there would be evidence found that could some day prove your innocence and set you free.

But what if everyone already knew that you did not commit the murder? What if everyone already knew that you had absolutely no intention of committing murder but yet you were still convicted of first degree murder and sentenced to spend the rest of your natural life behind bars for something that you did not do. Now that would be hard to swallow.

I must be talking about some case in some third world country were there laws are different and unfair or some communist country locking up people who don’t agree with there way of doing things, but I’m not, I’m talking about the good old U S of A. With the use of a law known as the felony murder rule people are being convicted of first degree murder and sentenced to life in prison without even killing anyone, without there even being the slightest intent of committing murder in the first degree. Though this law is seen to be unjust and has been done away with in most modern countries and the majority of the states in the USA it is still being used by a handful of states.

If your state still uses the felony murder rule please write to your state representative and tell them that we as a just and decent society need to stop using this unjust law to unfairly convict people for the rest of there lives.

When Spraying Paint is not Graffiti

arts 0 Comment »

Art masters of old may have never dreamed of the tools we now have available to us for our artistic creations. The mediums that remain the same have been joined by new, more technologically savvy equipment and methods for putting ideas to paper or canvas. For some of these new-wave artist types, an air brush is their tool of choice. Rather than laying paint on paper, air brush artists use an air driven mist of paint to cover their creative base. Air brushes can create fantastic details when used by the hands of an air brush master.

If you never have seen an airbrush at work, you might think of the last time you saw a car with an intricate paintjob, or T-shirt with your name written on it from a beach vendor. More than likely you’ll find that both these types of work has been done by an airbrush, but what you may not know about air brushes and how they work, is that you not only have to be an artists to make great works, but you’ll need to know something about how they work if you want to become good at using an airbrush.

Air brush technology uses air as the method to push paint through an opening that passes through a paint supply and sprays the object you want to cover. The opening is adjustable normally by adjusting a pin which increases or decreases the size of the opening the paint can flow through. It is with this method, and a selection of pins to have as the opening adjuster, the air brush artist creates details unseen prior to learning techniques that only can be created using this type of painting tool. If you use an air brush to create your art, then you can explain to others why with an air brush, spray painting is definitely not graffiti.

Ease the tension of skepticism

Marketing 0 Comment »

Specific direct mortgage marketing studies have indicated that 80 percent of most sales are made after the fifth contact has been made and there is no doubt that the most important connection is the very first one. First impressions do apply to mortgage brokers in business as it will to anyone else in day-to-day living. Therein lies the importance of knowing the essential tips for marketing mortgages via direct mail.

Direct mail marketing pieces can either light up your world to new customers or send you crashing into the guardrail. You can take charge of your destiny by putting into place the following proven method of direct mortgage marketing techniques.
Your direct marketing material should be well organized around one relevant offer. If you are targeting seniors, create an offer that matches their needs. If sub prime mortgage marketing is your game, tap into the hopes (or fears) of the bad credit borrowers. Maximize the importance of your pitch by focusing on the benefits they bring to users instead of on the features. One feature, for example, would be a low, fixed monthly payment. Having more money in there pocket and greater financial freedom is a huge benefit to a consumer.

Your not done just because you have sparked interest with a relevant offer. Direct mail recipients are typically skeptical; they are often worried about being cheated or sold something that really did not want. Take steps to address these tensions by incorporating trust building tools like guarantees, risk free offers, or customer testimonials in your direct mail piece.
Be clear about how and when you would like your reader to respond. Whenever possible, give them a deadline. You can accomplish this by offering a free gift or free information in return for a timely response. Tell your reader specifically what the next step will be. Should they make a phone call for more information, or, should they send back a business reply card?

Finally, the experts do recommend using a postscript to sum up your offer. Be sure to word your P.S. carefully.  Studies show that this can be one of the first items read on a page.
Be brief, organized, and conversational. Ideally, your writing should be balance and sincerity. Use bullet points and white space to make the information less intimidating, but do not disappear from the communication, convey who you are with a relaxed and sincere voice.

Now you are ready to walk down the golden road. When those leads start coming in, go for the sale by being direct.

Porterhouse

food and drink 0 Comment »

When it comes to choosing the best porterhouse in the country, there are number of factors that needs to be considered. First, cooked meat and raw meat ought to be considered distinctly from another. That is, the places that serve the most delicious steaks don’t necessarily (but often do) get their meat from the best suppliers. For instance, many would say that the best beef comes from Chicago, whereas the best steakhouse in the country – arguably Peter Luger’s – gets most of its beef from Colorado. But within each category, there are aspects of the porterhouse that must be considered in order for it to be considered quintessential, and, well, perfect.

When it comes to the raw product for porterhouse, size, marbling, and moisture content summarize the aspects of the steak that ought to be examined. Size really does matter for a porterhouse because the bigger the ‘face’ of the cut, the more weight it will have without having to be cut ridiculously thick, to the point of not cooking through. Small porterhouses are all too common these days: a nice steak for two, 38 ounces or so, shouldn’t be more than 2 and a quarter inches thick. Next, marbling is of the utmost importance. Without intramuscular fat, the steak will lack flavor, juiciness, and tenderness. The more intramuscular fat, the better; just ‘steer’ clear of big intramuscular ‘chunks’ of fat and try to avoid meat without good marbling. Last, lower moisture content is best for a tender, juicy steak whose flavor isn’t diluted by excess water or blood. Look for dry-aged meat, which will generally have a dark red to brown hue, indicating that it’s been dry aged. You may sometimes have to trade off size for proper aging; if you must, it is worth the trade, since thick steaks are a technical challenge for the chef, whereas overly wet steaks are more or less doom.

When it comes to a cooked porterhouse, the obvious thing to look for is flavor. But all meat flavor being equal, there are certain things that make some porterhouses better than others. First is the slice. Often the two steaks which comprise the porterhouse – the shell steak and the filet mignon – will be cut into slices that are too thin, robbing the meat of a lot of the mouth-feel that makes it so desirable. Another attribute that’s important for a  good steak is temperature. A great porterhouse remains hot for the entirety of the meal; cold steak takes on a taste and texture comparable to cardboard. Last, the crust on the outside of the meat and the crispness of the fat is a true connoisseur’s delight; a good crust provides a delightful contrast of textures within the meat, and crispy fat has an intense and delicious beefy flavor .

California Electric Companies Look for New Green Suppliers

commercial industiral 0 Comment »

Pacific Gas and Electric Company (PG&E) is a major supplier of electricity to California and its metropolitan regions. It has recently been involved with a commitment to purchase a portion of its electric requirements from the newest green power supply companies who have begun to produce testing grounds from which they will grow from. Just like when the microchip was king, California is poised to take a leadership role in the development and production of green energy resources by utilizing companies that are eagerly looking to attract their business.

One of these new California electric companies is Ausra Inc. The newest supplier of electricity using solar generation is planned to open a 177-MW facility in 2010, and it is using it’s 5-MW test facility as proof of the ability to take its technology on a larger scale. As California looks to decrease its carbon footprint because of the threat of power shortages, it will lead the way into the future benefits which will be realized using green sources of energy and proper maintenance of current infrastructure components.

Not only taking the lead, California is showing how these methods can reduce over-all costs on an economy. They plan on proving to the rest of the United States that it is possible to go green and save money too. The creation of green power costs less than making power the old fashioned way. When California electric companies take on the investment of research and development for future growth potentials, these new California Electric Companies will maintain the future benefits of bringing the newest technologies to the public first.

Offshore Corporation Boom

finance 0 Comment »

Like a siren in the night, the move to offshore banking systems for new corporate businesses signal the lack of confidence in financial sectors in developed countries who have until now been respected and trusted not to do the wrong things to succeed. Now that world economic issues include the failure of complete national banking systems, citizens of the world are eager to know how to provide their families and businesses a way to protect against future liabilities that can devastate a successful enterprise. When founding a business where you live is not the best way to go, an offshore corporation will allow you to be more mobile as a business, and more protective of your personal liability

An offshore corporation is easily accessible to individuals and partners who want to bring their ideas and monetary functions away from a country they reside in. By having personal and business holdings outside of immediate taxation by local governments, the offshore corporation will be able to utilize the revenues longer, thus creating a better business environment to worth within.

As an offshore corporation, all business dealings and asset allocations held in an offshore corporation is only regulated by the country which the corporation is registered with, thus with the right research, can be virtually run without oversight by regulators or lawmakers. The benefit of a lack oversight means that the business is free to develop custom strategies that profit the individual or corporate partners.

Getting the most from business when business is bad could mean that you need to keep company assets longer so that you can do more with them. Consider an offshore corporation as your tool to continued success in an economy that is looking to use your money to rebuild itself with increased taxation policies. Because of new banking policies that are in the pipeline for developed countries like the United States, The U.K., and Germany, an increase in corporate registrations is proof that more business and personal banking is moving offshore.
